Independent Redress Schemes | Company Obligation

It is a legal requirement for estate agents and letting agents to belong to a government approved independent redress scheme. The role of an independent redress scheme is to provide fair and reasonable resolutions to disputes with members of the public.

All Principals, Partners and Directors looking to become a member must provide evidence of the independent redress scheme they belong to. That goes for auctioneers and valuers too, only inventory providers looking to join ARLA Inventories are exempt. 


The government approved redress schemes are:

The Property Ombudsman (TPO)

You must join TPO as a member, registration is not sufficient
