A blockbuster year for member representation

2024 marked a remarkable year for Propertymark, as the organisation made significant strides in raising its profile, engaging stakeholders, and shaping policy discussions. This year’s achievements are a testament to the collective efforts of our team, members, and partners. Together, we have raised the bar, set new benchmarks and solidified our position as the leading voice in the property industry.

Record-breaking media coverage

Our PR team achieved 14,264 media mentions, a 123% uplift compared to 2023, which placed us securely as the leading national voice for property agents.

Propertymark’s media reach soared to 100 billion, a 65% increase year-on-year, and our messages consistently appeared in consumer media, which accounted for 99.35% of the total reach. This is vital, because boosting public recognition and understanding of the Propertymark brand and the expertise of our members is a key part of our mission as a professional body.

We are particularly delighted that our CEO, Nathan Emerson, received 11,130 media hits and reached an audience of 69.2 billion, showcasing Propertymark’s leadership in the property sector.

Influencing government policy

The Policy and Campaigns team delivered robust outcomes in 2024, cementing Propertymark’s role as a key player in shaping housing and property regulations, and keeping members engaged and informed with six webinars and 10 landlord forums across the year.

The team responded to 37 consultations and provided evidence at five parliamentary sessions, taking the views of our members directly to political decision makers. We also worked to increase awareness among politicians, delivering 30 political briefings and attending 20 meetings with MPs and Ministers.

Our work spanned across the UK, addressing critical issues such as building safety, energy efficiency standards, and rental sector reforms in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Setting the agenda in housing

Propertymark’s Housing Insight Reports, which are drawn directly from evidence from our members, gained widespread national attention, further solidifying Propertymark’s thought leadership. Additionally, we secured coverage in discussions surrounding the Labour and Conservative party manifestos, ensuring members’ interests were represented.

Digital and social media growth

Propertymark’s collaboration with Move iQ is also continuing to deliver real value. Between January and September 2024, the partnership achieved:

  • Over 1.25 million social media impressions.
  • 341,048 views/downloads of media content.
  • 126,638 new content page views, reflecting a strong interest in Propertymark’s resources.

Competing and winning

For the first time, Propertymark’s media presence surpassed that of high-street lenders like Barclays, Halifax, and Nationwide, which collectively achieved 6,637 media hits compared to Propertymark’s 14,264. This success highlights the organisation’s ability to set the sector agenda.

As we embark on 2025, the organisation remains committed to expanding its influence, driving positive change in the property sector, and delivering even greater value for our members.
